somethin’s brewin.

That would be me. Tonight is the night that I’ll begin my trek into the homebrewing world. Back in February, Erika bought me a homebrewing kit and I’m just now getting around to making it. The kit says that it will make a Pale Ale. It looks real legit, but can of hopped malt extract also says that the IBU’s (international bitterness units) are somewhere around 25. 25? 25? I’ve had milk stouts with more IBU’s. I’m shooting more for 45-55 IBU’s. That may end up being way too bitter as I’ve never tasted how strong the malt being used is. Either way, today is an excellent day to brew. Pictures documenting the brewing will be forthcoming.

yea.sayer.

Yeasayer has a new paranoid track called Ambling Alp for your earda-da-drums. Check it out.

no news, here’s old news.

It sure seems like there has been a lack of quality music news as of late. My apologies, I will search harder. In the mean time, enjoy this super fat Rusko dub of I Kissed A Girl.

ted leo testing new tunes.

Ted Leo stopped into MSNBC’s studio last week to perform an acoustic set during CMJ. He pulled out a couple of new songs during it, here’s one called “One Polaroid A Day” He pulls some nice riffs on this one.

prayers have been heard.

Pitchfork has just posted that Pavement have reunited and have been added to the Primavera Sound Festival’s as the headliner. Maybe some stateside shows are in order?

Just for kicks. And giggles.

jrocc puttin’ up the villain.

J.Rocc over at eastvillageradio just put up some exclusive spins of new Madvillain demos. Enjoi.

rusko’s got new tracks, not moose tracks.

Rusko just put up a few new tracks on his myspace. I can’t find links to put them here, but they are solid. He’s moving away from some of the fat wobbles of Cockney Thug towards a more garage type influence with more emphasis on synth. These are still some stellar tracks though.

Here’s a track he put out about a month ago that exemplifies some of that new style.

He also tweeted last night that he wants to get into popstep. Might have to try and find some.

killer even though its filler.

Today’s a bit of a slow day for news, so here’s a tune that’s sure to help speed your day. Enjoi boi.

no more teasing.

Them Crooked Vultures have just released New Fang, the first studio track to their debut album. Take a good hard listen. And then another.
